2021 Focus Groups

Join One of Our Houston Tech Rodeo Focus Groups

This year, to ensure that the Houston Tech Rodeo builds upon the success of its 2020 inaugural year, we're putting together four focus groups.

Focus Group Expectations

Focus groups are small, volunteer teams, led by a Houston Exponential team member, created to combine the expertise of the Houston community. These groups will play a major part in designing the Houston Tech Rodeo and will meet once every two weeks (with the potential to meet more frequently closer to the event) until their goal is achieved.

Attendee Experience
"How do we make the Houston Tech Rodeo feel like a big unified festival and not independent events?"

The goal of the Attendee Experience team is to provide a unified Houston Tech Rodeo experience for all participants. This team will help design the "glue" to connect separate events, experiences, and networking hosted by various organizations.

PR & Marketing
"How do we spread the word?"

The goal of the PR & Marketing team is to raise awareness of the Houston Tech Rodeo within Houston and nationally. This team will need to think outside the box to develop creative campaigns and reach previously unreached audiences.

Headliners
"How do we book top-tier headliners with national appeal?"

The goal of the Headliners team is to lock in relevant and available headliners with a national reach. Houston Tech Rodeo headliners aren't musical performances (although artists could qualify), but are events/experiences to drive innovation in Houston. Headliners could include prominent entrepreneurs, innovators, culture creators, and investors to name a few. Members of this team will help book headliners and connect them with Houston Exponential to finalize day of logistics.

Public Safety
"How do we maintain the highest level of safety throughout the whole week?"

The goal of the Public Safety team is to make sure all aspects of the Tech Rodeo are safe for all participants and attendees.

General Volunteers
"How do we guarantee all aspects of the Houston Tech Rodeo run smoothly?"

Want to help put on a festival celebrating tech and innovation in Houston? We're taking applications for general volunteers to help with planning or day of logistics. All are welcome to apply!
